The possible impacts of climate change that Singapore is going to face includes increased frequency of flash floods, urban heat island effect and a greater risk of pollution-related health problems. These climate change consequences are non-exclusive and problems such as forest fires in Borneo and threatened rice yields in Thailand could very well affect Singapore drastically.
There is also a possibility of some parts of Singapore may be submerged by 2100, as sea-levels are predicted to rise by a knee-high 65 centimetres, added Hails.
“Major issues are the change in the weather -- it's going to be warmer and wetter. Singapore is very close to sea level and as the planet warms, sea levels are going to rise due to the thermal expansion of sea water, also as polar ice caps melt,” he said.
“So you imagine, it's going to rain more, sea levels are going to rise and it's going to get hotter and it is squeezing Singapore,”

So instead blaming such occurances of nature on our Government, shouldnt we start embracing what we learnt from our texts back in primary school and start conserving energy, reducing wastages and save our poor earth? Our Ministry of Education did foresee such situations like Global Warming and went ahead to implement education on such matters long before the flash floods.
Ask not of what you think they did not do. Instead, look at what you have failed to give. I feel they have done pretty well thus far.
Cut down on your CFCs - less air-conditioning, more efficient use of resources, more walking.. It's our duty to save the dying world due to the damages we have done. Pointing fingers won't help much.. Labels: Quotes, Random rants

- The pitch of a man's voice correlates with the amount of the male sex hormone testosterone he has, and his testosterone level is itself indicative of his genetic quality and sexual fitness. Because women have evolved to seek out men who have all the indicators of fitness and health, studies have shown time and time again that women tend to be more attracted to men with lower-pitched voices.
- The more testosterone a man has, the stronger his brow, cheekbones and jaw line. Meanwhile, the more estrogen a woman has, the wider her face, fuller her lips and the higher her eyebrows. In short, sex hormones control the divergence of male and female facial features.
- From puberty on, men grow much more hair on their bodies — and especially their faces — than women. This is because sex hormones called androgens stimulate hair growth, and men have more of those hormones. On the flip side, the same testosterone that sprouts hair all over men's bodies also leads them to go bald later in life.
- The lightness of a woman's skin correlates with the ratio of the lengths of her index and ring fingers, and her digit ratio in turn correlates with how much estrogen she was exposed to in the womb. Similarly, studies have also found that digit ratios are higher among blond people than dark-haired ones, suggesting that higher estrogen exposure also lightens hair.
- While the male metabolism burns calories faster, the female metabolism tends to convert more food to fat. Women store the extra fat in their breasts, hips, buttocks, and as subcutaneous fat in the bottom layer of their skin — giving a woman's skin its softer, plumper feel.
